Employee Q&A: Lilly Scott

Employee Q&A: Lilly Scott

Inside the Montana Motor Supply building – tucked unsuspectingly behind main street in downtown Bozeman, Montana – you’ll find Abby Hetherington and her team. This team consists of designers, saleswomen, operators, project managers, stylists, a token illustrator, a Paul Bunyanesque character that lends muscles to hoist furniture and arrange the showroom floor, amongst others that contribute their unique talents, skills and craft.

For those new to following, Abby Hetherington Interiors (AHI) is housed with its sister company, the Architect’s Wife (AW). Think of AHI as the back of house designers while AW is the the front of house curators.

Here, we share some of the faces behind AHI & AW along with a bit of their backstory. Today, we're excited to introduce you to Lilly Scott—our new inventory specialist! Lilly came to us via Jackson, Wyoming, and has a solid background in wrangling the wild wild world of merchandise and inventory. Her detail-oriented skillset makes her a super-valuable team member and having someone so willing to jump in and help make things happen—from inventory to photography to working the floor—has been awesome!

How did you land at AHI/AW?

I joined the team in early July of this year, about a month after moving to Bozeman. I *luckily* found this job via Instagram! My mom is an interior designer, and her work has always inspired me to be a part of this wonderful creative industry.

What is your role?

I'm the inventory specialist for AW. I work with our team to make sure all our products are accounted for. An average day includes placing, tracking, and receiving inventory, looking at sales data, fulfilling orders form our website, working with vendors near and far, etc!

Where do you find design inspiration?

I love coffee table books for any kind of inspiration! Although Instagram is a fantastic resource, there's something special about physically flipping through the big beautiful imagery of a coffee table book.

What's something one might not know about you?

I have every birthday card I've ever received since I was 7!

If you could have a dinner with someone who is alive or dead, who would it be and why?

Aretha Franklin, the queen of soul.

What have you been up to during this great pandemic?

I hopped on the sourdough bandwagon in March - my starter is still alive and well and I love making baking sourdough bread and bagels!

If you were to pick two things to take home with you today from the Architect's Wife showroom, what would they be?

Michael Poliza's "The World" coffee table book, and the extra large Winters Throw from Uniq'uity!
