This is a hand-colored photograph by Jack Ellis (J. E.) Haynes, son of F. J. Haynes. Jack took over the Haynes family business in 1916 when his father retired. He operated Haynes, Inc. until he passed away in 1962. Jack's widow, Isabel, continued to operate the business until 1968, when she sold it to Hamilton, Inc. They Haynes family was active in Yellowstone National Park for 87 years. They were the most influential family in the park during that period.
